AFTER RHİNOPLASTY
Recovery after nose surgery is a process that takes up to 1 year. We can divide this process into three; early, middle, and late postoperative periods. The early period is the process that is the first week after surgery. The middle period starts from the 7th day and lasts until the 2nd month. The late period is the period from 2 months to 1 year. In the early period, there will be frequent medical controls. By the 2nd month, most of the healing will be completed. But this can change from patient to patient.
Sports After Rhinoplasty: Sports are not allowed for 6 weeks after the operation. After then, you can do light exercises such as walking. Sports that require close contact, such as football and basketball, shouldn’t be done to avoid impacts. You can start swimming and gym activities after the 8th week. But this should be decided according to your recovery status.
Nutrition After Rhinoplasty: Soft foods should be chosen. You should avoid extremely hot and cold foods also excessive chewing for a while. You shouldn’t chew gum. You should stay away from foods that will cause gas and bloating, such as soda. You should eat a protein and a vitamin C-based diet. Avoid spicy foods that you are allergic to.
Smoking After Rhinoplasty: You shouldn’t be smoking before and after the operation. You should stay away from smoking to have a successful healing process. In addition, you should avoid being a passive smoker too.

FEMALE vs. MALE RHINOPLASTY
Although female patients come to mind when it comes to aesthetics, the number of male patients having aesthetic surgery is increasing over the years. Both female and male patients are having aesthetic surgery for aesthetic and functional reasons. But, there are some differences between female and male rhinoplasty. Let’s see them:
ANATOMICAL DIFFERENCES
The dorsal portion or bridge of the male nose is often straighter and wider. It should be less concaved than the bridge in females – the female nose tend to have 1-2 mm more of curvature than its male counterparts.
SKIN TYPE DIFFERENCES
Nasal skin in male patient is generally thicker than female patient which is one of the primary reasons why the changes that can be done in male rhinoplasty is limited. Also thick skin causes longer healing process.
AESTHETIC REQUEST DIFFERENCES
Female patients prefer softer appearance with a slightly upturned nasal tip and a minor dorsal hump while male patients prefer prominent nasal structures with a strongly defined straight angle nose.

Additionally, since the nose is the most prominent part of your face, nose job will have a positive impact on the whole face. Therefore, you may have your nose job done first. CO2 laser does indeed work on open pores, in some cases, a patient might need multiple sessions to achieve the desired result. As for the color, it is highly important to apply sunscreen constantly after getting CO2 laser treatment to avoid unwanted pigmentations.
