Rhinoplasty Before and After Gallery

Rhinoplasty Before and After: Real Results from Istanbul, Turkey

This gallery shows patients who had closed rhinoplasty, septorhinoplasty or revision rhinoplasty performed by Prof. Dr. Suleyman Tas in Istanbul, photographed before surgery and again at 7 days, 2 months, 4 months and 1 year. Men and women, first operations and revisions, thin and thick skin, humps, drooping tips, wide noses and crooked noses are all represented, and each set shows the same patient from the same angle so the change can be judged honestly.

All of these operations were done with the closed atraumatic technique: every incision is inside the nostrils, so there is no visible scar, and the tissues are handled gently to limit swelling and bruising. The aim is a nose that fits the face and does not look operated, with breathing that is as good as or better than before. For a male nose that means a straight, strong bridge and a tip that is not over-rotated; for a female nose, a smooth profile and a defined tip that is lifted only as much as the face allows.

How to read the photos:

• 7 days: the cast has just come off; the bridge is already straight, but the tip is swollen and looks larger than it will.

• 2 to 4 months: most of the swelling has gone and the profile is close to final.

• 1 year: the tip has slimmed down and the skin has redraped; thick-skinned noses are at the slower end of this curve.

Prof. Dr. Suleyman Tas has performed more than 10,000 nose operations, teaches rhinoplasty to surgeons from other countries at live-surgery courses in Istanbul and is the author of the textbook Rhinoplasty in Practice (CRC Press, 2020). Patients from abroad usually stay in Istanbul for about 7 days, until the cast is removed, and online follow-up continues for one year. The fee is quoted individually after your photographs have been reviewed.
