BEFORE NOSE SURGERY

Initial Examination and Consultation

This is basically the stage of meeting with the doctor. The doctor examines and determines whether the patient is medically appropriate for the nose surgery. The patient is informed about aesthetic, functional deformities and interventions and preparations that will help to fix it. Later, the next step is taken.

Second Examination and Consultation

This is a more detailed examination for the patient who is eligible for nose surgery. The patient’s deformities and all details of what can be done for these deformities are discussed and after that, a simulation is prepared. Later, the operation date is determined and hospital reservations are made.

Third Examination and Consultation

This step is performed for the blood test and other procedures that need to be done before the operation. The patient visits the hospital and meets with the anesthesiologist.

Fourth Examination and Consultation

This step is the last one before the nose surgery and is held a few days before the surgery. The doctor sees the patient and takes note of technical interventions for the operation.

AFTER NOSE SURGERY

The patient who had nose surgery stays 1 night at the hospital and next day doctor visits the patient and discharges the patient. The patient comes to 1st week, 2nd month and 1st year controls after surgery. All operated patients are called regularly by our clinic and they can reach whenever they want.

Patients from abroad and our clinic assistants are making detailed phone calls. Patients are asked to send a video which is seen by the doctor. Thus, a virtual examination and consultation are performed between the patient and doctor.

After the virtual examination and consultation, an operation date is set for the patient who is medically appropriate for the nose surgery and a detailed examination appointment is scheduled for a few days before the surgery.

The patient visits the clinic at the date of appointment, all aesthetic and functional deformities, details of the operation, simulation is held at this meeting. Then, the patient visits the hospital to meet with the anesthesiologist and having the blood tests.

The patient, who has an operation day in advance, is taken to the nose surgery in a few days after the detailed examination and consultation.

After 1 week of the nose surgery, the patient can return to the back home. Saving total 10 quality days is enough for the nose surgery. The 2^nd month and 1^st year controls are planned and patients from abroad are welcomed to come to the controls. If they cannot make it, we ask for a video to be shown to the doctor. Does my nose tip go down after a Nose Job?

Workouts are not allowed for 6 weeks after surgery. Light exercises such as walking can be done after the 6th week. In sports that require close contact such as football and basketball and can be hit by the opponent, patients are recommended to do with a mask or do it after they are well recovered. Activities such as swimming and gym can be started after the 8th week. However, this also changes depending on the patient and the details of the surgery.

Can I smoke after nose job?

Smoking should be definitely stopped before nose surgery. Smoking affects healing very badly after nose surgery and might cause asymmetries in the nose. Therefore, one considering rhinoplasty should not be smoking before and after nose surgery and should stay away from smoking areas to avoid passive smoking.

How to clean the nose after a nose job?

Salty water spray is used to clean inside the nose in the early period after nose surgery. The nose should be washed 5 times a day with the salty spray. This way, mucus does not accumulate in the nose, and old crusts and clots are cleaned. Oily pomade should be applied inside the nose before going to bed. It is not recommended blowing your nose in the early period after nose surgery as it increases pressure inside the nose. Only after the 7th day, by closing one nostril with a finger, the other nostril can be blown. After the first week, patients can clean their nose by drawing normal tap water. However, they should not pick their noses with fingers. On the 7th day and the 2nd month after the nose surgery, nose cleaning should be done gently with cotton buds. The patient may begin to clean his nose normally after the second month of the nose surgery.

Will I experience loss of smell after a Nose Job?

In the first days after surgery, swelling may cause a temporary loss of smell and taste, but the nose will have its normal function as soon as possible. It is very minor probability to experience permanent loss of smell or taste.

Does swelling and bruising occur after nose job?

It is common for swelling and bruising to occur after nose surgery. However with the current medical progress, utilized Closed and Atraumatic Approach and drug treatments swelling and bruising is minimized. Nevertheless, if the patients have an unknown bleeding disorder, if they have long periods of menstruation, and if their body is very sensitive and the slightest blow can swell and bruise they may get bruised. Another issue is bruising in cases such as taking blood thinning medications 10 days before the nose surgery, consuming alcohol 5 days before the surgery, and drinking water with lemon 2 days before rhinoplasty.

Swelling and bruising after rhinoplasty heal over time, even if nothing is done. Massaging the nose after nose surgery will eliminate swelling faster and accelerate the healing process. If bruising has occurred after nose surgery, homeopathic medicine can be prescribed so that it can be resolved faster. If the bruise has occurred inside eyes, it can be resolved by the eye drops.

Do I need to do nose massage after nose job?

What is the physical condition like after nose job?

After the nose surgery daily activities will be restricted. Restriction of daily activities is also necessary for the rapid improvement of wound healing! The restriction will decrease after the 7th day and the patient will gradually reach previous activity performance.

Will there be bleeding after nose job?

Bleeding may occur first 24 hours after rhinoplasty surgery. The important thing here is to distinguish whether the bleeding is an active bleeding or old blood flowing out. If it is an active bleeding necessary precautions should be taken. The old blood outflow can be followed only by dressing. Bleeding occurring after 24 hours of nose surgery should be evaluated more carefully. In case of bleeding after nose surgery, the patient is asked to contact his doctor.
