How is Rhinoplasty Performed?

⏩ After Rhinoplasty
The recovery period following a nose surgery can take up to a year and can be divided into three stages: early, middle, and late postoperative periods. The early period is the first week after the surgery, and during this period, frequent visits to the doctor are necessary. The middle period starts from the 7th day and lasts until the 2nd month, during which most of the healing takes place. However, the duration of this period may vary from person to person. The late period is from 2 months to 1 year after the surgery.

Used Techniques for Rhinoplasty
Preservation Rhinoplasty
Preservation rhinoplasty keeps the natural dorsal aesthetic lines instead of removing the hump and rebuilding the roof of the nose. The dorsum is lowered from below — by resecting a strip of septal cartilage and releasing the bony base with a let-down or push-down manoeuvre — so the original bone and cartilage surface of the bridge stays intact. Because the dorsal roof is never opened, irregularities and open-roof deformity are less likely and the nose keeps the character it had before surgery. It suits a smooth, straight hump with good skin quality; a markedly crooked or previously operated nose often still needs a structural approach.
Septorhinoplasty
When the shape of the nose and a breathing problem are corrected in the same operation it is called septorhinoplasty. A deviated septum, enlarged turbinates or a collapsed internal nasal valve are treated alongside the aesthetic work, because reshaping a nose without correcting the airway can make breathing worse. The cartilage taken from the septum during this step is also the best graft material for supporting the tip and the valves.
Ethnic Rhinoplasty
Ethnic rhinoplasty is not a separate technique but a different starting anatomy and a different goal. Thicker skin, weaker tip cartilage and a lower dorsum need added support rather than reduction, and the aim is a nose that belongs to the patient’s own face instead of a single standard shape.
Revision Rhinoplasty
A revision is performed when a previous rhinoplasty has left a functional or an aesthetic problem — a collapsed valve, an over-resected dorsum, an asymmetric or pinched tip. Scar tissue makes the surgical planes harder to find and the remaining septal cartilage is often insufficient, so grafts are frequently taken from the ear or the rib. A revision is usually planned at least one year after the previous operation, once the swelling has fully settled.

Rhinoplasty in Turkey is a very easy and effortless process. This process consists of 5 effective and simple steps.
Preparation for Surgery
First, the patient who has decided on rhinoplasty is prepared for the operation. General or local anesthesia is administered so that the patient is comfortable and completely ready for surgery.
First Incisions
Depending on the technique planned for the patient, the incisions are made inside the nose (closed rhinoplasty) or on the outside. Through these incisions the areas that need correction are identified, and the nose surgery begins.
Reshaping the Nose
The problem areas are corrected – for example by removing a hump, refining the tip or reducing the size of the nose. During this stage the most suitable nose shape for the patient’s facial lines is created.
Closing the Incisions
Once the ideal nose shape for the patient’s facial expression has been created, the nasal skin is re-draped and the incisions are sutured. In closed rhinoplasty all incisions stay inside the nose; in open rhinoplasty there is also a small incision on the columella. The operated area then heals over the following weeks.
